Many people who have the least give the most, and they’re the ones I will always remember and miss most when they’re gone. I can’t imagine going to a graveside looking for what’s in it for me.
i once feared graveyards – don’t know why, perhaps the horror movies of my youth. it’s only been fairly recent i realized that the majority of people resting there were good decent people when they were alive, so why would they turn into blood-sucking ghouls when they die? just a thought
I never thought about it quite that way…and I think a lot! Great observation. I’ve pretty much always felt them as peaceful places…but I was taught from an early age not to fear death. Just another phase of being.
you can not live without appreciating the fact that eventually you shall die. not that it should be a constant ‘fear’ or dreaded consequence, just as you so eloquently stated: it’s “just another phase of being”. life is for the living, so (my philopsophy) just live each day like it’s your last – live, love, laugh! – peace
We’re on the same page there to be sure!
as the “kids” would say: “fer sure”
as the ‘kids’ would also say LOL!
I’m being cremated so that there is no funeral! lol
never thought of that one, must give it some thought
